The Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance hosted a hugely successful Summer Soiree – our 7th Annual – welcoming a crowd of several hundred real estate professionals, elected officials and other VIPs.

The Summer Soirée has become an important fund-raiser for the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance (NBOA), an advocacy group dedicated to educating public officials about the needs and concerns of property owners in Chicago and the region. Proceeds from the event will directly fund the advocacy and lobbying efforts of the NBOA in Chicago, Cook County and in Springfield.

  

NBOA extends its special thanks to Loyola University Chicago which, once again, generously allowed us to use historic Piper Hall along the Lakefront to host the event.

RPBG President Mike Glasser announced the newest member of the NBOA – the Northwest Side Building Coalition (NSBC), headed by Jon Womack. NSBC joins Edgewater Uptown Builders Association (EUBA), Greater Austin Development Association (GADA), Lakeview Developers Association (LDA), Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago (LPBC), South Side Community Investment Association (SSCIA), and the Rogers Park Builders Group (RPBG) as NBOA affiliates..

  

NBOA has had a full plate this year, fighting a constant stream of legislative initiatives that have been unfriendly to property owners. As a result, the NBOA recently created the Legislative Council to more effectively track these initiative and to develop lobbying strategies to combat them. Individuals interested in serving on this Council should contact Mike Glasser or their affiliates’ NBOA representative.
